*Range test: One scale sung forte and a cappella, on an open vowel, presenting the entire voice-range.
*Prepared score: excerpt from H Howels’ Requiem (available here)
*An Aria or Lied of their own choice, with or without piano accompaniment, demonstrating their best artistic and vocal abilities. The prepared score must be sung in the correct octave and proper key for the voice part for which a candidate is auditioning.
NOTE: here we strongly advise that the candidate present a piece within the style and vocal range they are most comfortable with. Do not try and impress the judges by presenting something well out of your range and capabilities. A score must be made available for this piece.
Interested singers should submit an application form (available here) to Mr. T. Mukarati at the St John's College Music Department (weekdays from 8am to 5pm only) by no later than 4pm on Monday 16th January 2012 along with the $50 application fee. Alternatively, completed application forms can be sent in via email to tinashe@mukaratimusic.com, along with scanned proof of payment of the application fee which should be deposited into an account whose details are available on receipt of application.
NOTE: Application is not complete until payment has been made.
